| Well, the garden is going to be a challenge. It was already well established with the emphasis on the very well to the point of being over grown and almost jungle like in places. There are some wonderful species of plants, many fruit trees and some enormous specimen trees including gums, a copper beech, Scot's pine and macrocarpa. There are some old friends among the flowers and many new unusual flowers. Most of the trees and shrubs have been planted to attract native birds or for their gorgeous scent. The challenge is to put some shape back into the garden and to establish vegetable and herb gardens. | ||||||||||||||||||||||

| After Christmas, the herb and vegetable gardens were built. First a fence and windbreak had to be removed, then retaining walls were built, 22 truck loads of topsoil were brought down from the top paddock, bags and bags of well matured chicken droppings (from the chicken sheds) were dug in, and finally the whole lot was covered with compost from our three big compost bins. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
